Mothers Day Reflection

As we approach Mother’s Day and reflect on the precious bond between a Mother and her child,  we are reminded that there are families out there who are not as fortunate as we are.

At Friday’s Child Baby Gifts my wish has always been to source unique, beautiful products that would in turn create special baby gifts that you would want to gift.  Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I could achieve this AND make a positive contribution to the world at the same time.

We are so proud to be a new stockist of the Pebble brand. These beautiful baby toys are blankets are both organic and fair trade by Hathay Bunano.  Hathay Bunano, meaning made by hand or hand knitted in Bangla, is a non-profit fair trade organisation in Bangladesh.  Their mission is to create fairly paid, good quality, flexible and local employment for rural women who are poor and often disadvantaged.

At Hathay Bunano their aim is to provide employment which allows family to stays together in rural areas and to prevent economic migration to the cities.  It aims to keep families together and in particular to keep mummies with their babies and children by providing employment in a village setting close to their homes.

I feel so inspired by the work that Pebble are doing to empower these women and provide them with the ability to be able to contribute to the livelihood of their families. I am so proud to be able to offer these beautiful baby products to you, our customers, so you too can feel extra good about the baby gifts you are purchasing and in so doing supporting this worthy cause.

Hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day and create special memories.
